The returning Open Cup champ, Seattle Sounders, fell to the Portland Timbers 3-1 in a match that pitted bitter Cascadia Derby Rivals in the 4th round of the tournament. Seattle a man down was able to tie the game in the 90th minute, and it all went down hill from there. Martins went down with an injury after Seattle had already used their 3rd sub and the Timbers up two men scored the go ahead goal in the 110th minute. Michael Azira received a straight red in the 113′ and the Sounders, most notably Clint “Deuce” Dempsey, frustration with the ref reached a point of no return and the American Futbol Legend decided to take matters into his own hands…. literally.
